Bulk cement trucks are specialized vehicles designed for transporting powder materials such as cement. Their operation relies on a specific mechanism that enables them to efficiently mix and discharge these materials.
The power from the truck's chassis is transmitted to an air compressor via the power take-off and a transmission shaft. This air compressor is crucial as it fills the tank with air, creating a mixture of air and powder materials that takes on a fluid-like state. Once the pressure within the tank reaches a predetermined level, the discharge butterfly valve opens, allowing the material to flow out.
Speed and Pressure Management: Operators must ensure that they do not exceed the recommended speed or pressure limits during operation. Exceeding these limits can cause significant damage to the air compressor. The maximum operational speed and a working pressure of 0.2 MPa should be adhered to, as detailed in the technical specifications.
Direction of Compressor Rotation: It is essential to maintain the correct direction of rotation for the air compressor. Reversing the rotation can lead to severe damage, particularly to the oil pump.
Gradual Operation of the Air Compressor: The air compressor should be started and stopped gradually. Rapid changes in speed can create pressure surges that may harm the compressor.
Decompression Protocol: Before turning off the air compressor, it is vital to allow for proper decompression. Failing to do so can result in powdered materials flowing back into the air cylinder, potentially causing serious damage.
Oil Level Checks: Prior to starting the vehicle, it is necessary to check the oil level. The oil level should not fall below the minimum threshold. Continuous oil supply to the pump must be ensured, as running the compressor without adequate lubrication can lead to severe damage.
Lubrication Requirements: The recommended lubricant for these machines is CD40 diesel engine oil. It is critical to avoid mixing different brands of oil, as this can degrade lubrication effectiveness.
Scheduled Oil Changes: Routine oil changes are important for maintaining the machine's performance. Initially, after 30 hours of operation, the oil should be drained, and the crankcase along with the oil filter should be cleaned before refilling with new oil. Subsequently, oil changes should occur annually. Additionally, the oil filter should be checked and cleaned quarterly, with monthly checks recommended for machines in heavy use.
Air Filter Maintenance: The air filter requires maintenance and cleaning every 30 hours of operation. During maintenance, compressed air should be blown from the inside out, ensuring the pressure is below 0.6 MPa. After five cleanings, the filter element should be replaced. It is important never to clean the filter with oil or water, as this can compromise its effectiveness.
By following these guidelines, operators can ensure the longevity and efficiency of bulk cement trucks, minimizing the risk of damage and maintaining optimal performance during operation.
